				Mi servirebbero istruzioni su come fare un test completo dell'hardware del mio pc fisso.
 
Premetto che sono mesi che gli sto dietro ma non ne vengo fuori.
 
 
E' un pc assemblato del 2017.
 
 
Succede che dopo tot riavvii il sistema non si riavvia più. Linux (varie distribuzioni) con fsck funziona per un pò ma poi un po' alla volta si rompe del tutto e devo reinstallare.
 
 
Dati smart dicono che il disco è ok e tutti i test risultano passati (posso inserire i valori se serve).
 
 
Il comando dmesg mi dice che c'è un problema al disco o porta o cavo (ata). Anche qui posso inviare output completo o parziale (solo gli errori).
 
 
Ho sostituito il cavo, ho provato tutte le porte ata (tutte e 4) ma il problema persiste.
 
 
Prima di provare un altro disco (dovrei comprarlo) come posso capire se il problema è della scheda madre o relative porte ata?
 
 
Il bios è aggiornato.
 
 
Ho cambiato la batteria tampone del bios.
 
 
Ho provato a istallare W10 (da Ventoy per chè non ho Windows per usare Rufus) e ad un certo punto si è fermato perchè dice che i files sono corrotti (lo so dovrei provare a rifare la chiavetta in altro modo o usarne un'altra, ma non potendo usare Rufus sono in difficoltà).
 
Inoltre dopo 2 volte che provo a installare W10 l'installer non vede più il disco.    
 
 
Ora rifaccio andare in live Kubuntu per vedere che ha il disco fisso.
 
 
Mi interessa un tool per testare la scheda madre. Consigli? |

				Secondo me, se vuoi isolare il responsabile devi pensare di utilizzare un sistema terzo per le prove.
 
La via più immediata sembrerebbe quella di collegare il disco ad un'altra macchina, magari con un adattatore SATA->USB, e forzare un test in profondità con smartctl; questo porterebbe almeno a capire se è il disco ad avere noie. Se il test è superato, potresti dover cambiare la MB; naturalmente sostituire una componente chiave che ha ormai almeno sette anni imporrebbe una profonda riflessione sulla scelta più opportuna. |

Ho staccato l'hdd del pc e collegato ad un adattatore sata, mi sapresti dire perché non me lo vede? Io già uso questo adattatore, ma su hdd di portatili, 2,5. Questo è un hdd fisso 3,5 mi serve un adattatore diverso, una dock?
 
 
Ah, ho fatto anche questa prova. Ho messo l'hdd di un portatile sul fisso, dove ho comunque istallato MX Linux, il fisso me lo ha avviato e da MX ho dato il solito comando: dmesg e quegli errori non li ha mostrati.
 
 
Ad occhio sembrerebbe un problema dell'hdd..ma devo aspettare lunedì per andare in un negozio della zona ed eventualmente acquistare un SSD nuovo. |

				Ammesso che il problema non sia il disco, sospetto che si tratti dell'alimentazione. Gli HDD 3,5" in genere si aspettano una linea dedicata per quella oltre al cavo dati e può darsi che il tuo adattatore fornisca al disco la corrente "dimensionata" per i devices portatili, insufficiente per quelli fissi. Se invece è proprio lui, questione risolta...
 
 
In caso, dovresti riprovare usando un case specifico per i 3,5", ma a questo punto se non lo hai e devi comprarlo ti conviene fermarti a valutare anche delle alternative: ha poco senso spendere troppo solo per verificare chi è che ha il problema. |

				se il problema non esisteva prima, e se non hai aggiornato il BIOS o il kernel di recente, dato che hai cambiato cavi e porte, tenderei a pensare che sia il disco che sta partendo - molto strano però che i dati SMART siano OK se il disco inizia a dare errori di I/O    
 
 
valuta comunque di passare ad un SSD / NVM, dato che il disco in questione è probabilmente anche piuttosto lento... |
